PT6A-21

The PT6A-21 turbine engine is a small-series turboprop aircraft engine. It is a slight variation of the PT6 Pratt & Whitney Canada engine. Intended use of the PT6A-21 is for the Beechcraft King Air C90A/B/SE and the Beechcraft Air Bonanza. The PT6A-21 shaft horsepower is 550 shp and equivalent shaft horsepower is 580 eshp. The propeller shaft design speed is 2200 RPM and the propeller shaft rotation is clockwise.

PT6A-21 Applications

The PT6A-21 airframe applications also include the Royal Turbine Duke and the Evektor EV-55 Outback. It’s TBO is 3600 and it’s HSI is 1800. This engine is a free turbine turboprop propulsion engine. It incorporates a multi-stage compressor, driven by a single stage turbine and a single stage free turbine. The single stage free turbine drives the propeller shaft through planetary reduction gearing.
